Think snowy grounds, Christmas trees everywhere, candy canes big enough to walk on, and tons of festive decorations. It looks all cheerful and happy, right? Well, don’t let that fool you, because underneath all the tinsel, it’s still got those classic Vex challenges that’ll make you want to pull your hair out, like spikes hidden in snowdrifts and those evil spinning blades, probably painted red and green for the occasion.

Playing it means you’ve got to be super careful with every move. You’re jumping, sliding around, and trying to climb stuff, all to avoid whatever holiday-themed doom is waiting for you and make it to the end of the stage. They’ve put checkpoints in these levels too, so when you inevitably slip on some ice into a pit of spikes, you don’t lose all your progress. It’s still tough, but at least you get a fighting chance. The whole Christmas vibe definitely puts a fun little spin on the usual Vex formula.

Vex 3 Xmas is basically a fun, seasonal take on the platforming headaches the Vex games are known for. It’s this weird mix of “aww, how festive!” and “argh, not again!” that actually works pretty well.
