Jordan Has a Strange Family Problem
Like Vampire Like Son is a point-and-click adventure about Jordan. Jordan is human, but his parents are vampires. He grows up in Vampireville while pretending that he belongs there. His secret causes a serious problem when a neighbor discovers that Jordan is not a real vampire.
Jordan has to leave Vampireville. His father tells him not to return until he becomes a true vampire.
That sends Jordan into Humanville and begins a strange adventure filled with unusual people, useful objects, and small puzzles.
Explore and Talk to People
Like Vampire Like Son uses the mouse for its controls. The player clicks around each scene to inspect places, talk to characters, collect objects, and use items.
There is no need to run, jump, or fight through every screen. Progress comes from noticing what each character needs and finding an object that can solve the problem.
Jordan visits several locations around Humanville. He can enter places such as Laverne’s Pancake House and the Red Room. Some areas do not become useful until Jordan collects the right item.
Items Connect the Puzzles
The inventory plays an important part in the game. Jordan finds objects such as a key, salt, a bunny costume, magic powder, a cross, a hose, and other strange items.
Each object has a purpose.
The bunny costume helps Jordan enter a place where he would otherwise get turned away. A key opens something important later. Magic powder helps with another part of Jordan’s plan. Some items can even work together to solve a larger problem.
This means the player needs to remember earlier locations. An item found in one part of town may solve a puzzle somewhere completely different.
A Funny Point-and-Click Story
Like Vampire Like Son mixes its puzzles with a silly vampire story. Jordan meets odd characters and gets pulled into situations that often have unexpected solutions.
The main goal remains easy to follow. Jordan wants to deal with his vampire problem and find a way back home.
Players need to explore each screen, read conversations, collect anything useful, and think about where those objects belong. The puzzles depend more on observation than speed.
Like Vampire Like Son works well for players who enjoy story games where clicking the right object can open a new part of the adventure.
