Super Mario Sunshine 64
About Super Mario Sunshine 64
Super Mario Sunshine 64 is a fan project that rebuilds parts of Sunshine inside the style and mechanics of Super Mario 64. It centers on FLUDD, a water pack that lets Mario hover, rocket upward, and dash across water. The hack uses a hub based on Delfino Plaza and brings in areas like Bianco Hills, Ricco Harbor, and Gelato Beach.
Mario moves fast and feels responsive with long jumps, wall kicks, and tight ledges. He sprays sludge to clear paths and reveal Shine Sprites. Water runs low during long sections. He refills at fountains and ponds. The hack adds puzzle rooms that test hover control and nozzle swaps. Boss fights echo Sunshine, such as Gooper Blooper and a goop-spewing Piranha, but they follow the Super Mario 64 rules.
Stages offer multiple missions, including red coin runs, timed races, and secret courses that disable FLUDD. The camera keeps the classic Mario 64 feel and can snag on walls in tight spaces, yet it rarely blocks key jumps. Music uses Sunshine themes in a 64 style, and bright textures match the island tone. Controls map nozzle changes and spray to simple buttons, and the game saves progress based on Shine count.
